Very friendly host
Host was so friendly and welcoming :) They let me already check in at 10 am :) Rooms were clean and comfortable

What was the highlight of 1521 Hostel
Nice people at a fairly expensive and poorly maintained hostel.
The staff were very friendly and the location was good for us, although the hostel is located right on a busy highway so it’s noisy even at night.
The place wouldn’t have been so bad if not for the lack of hot water on the second day and having no water at all the third day. Since we stayed on Mactan island mainly to do some dives around the area we really needed water to wash off all of the salt after our dives. And an extra bonus was the lizard that shared the bathroom with us; apparently they like to hide behind the mirror :) Also the hostel is situated on a busy/ noisy highway, so we couldn’t get a good night’s rest. There are nicer hotels in the area for half the price we payed for this hostel.

We arrive 3 hours late for check out.
We arrive 3 hours late for check out. They let us do our suitcases without rushing and let us have a shower. Thanks Nice terrace on the top floor to spend some time in the night.

I stayed here because it was super close to the airport (or...
I stayed here because it was super close to the airport (or at least I thought it was when I booked) and my flight landed on the middle of the night, so the 24 hour reception was great and the staff were nice and helpful. And the beds were comfy. I literally slept here and then left the next morning so I can’t really comment much more.
